Argentina: Latin Lovers and Tango!

Ivy Tjok, just returned from fabulous Argentina! If you have never been to Argentina, you need to put it on your bucket list!

Ladies! this is the place to find your Latin Lover and give your best shot at learning the Tango! What fun it is. I took a tango class and went to a Tango show at the beautiful Faena Hotel. And the shopping in Buenos Aires is some of the best.

Buenos Aires is a beautiful, cosmopolitan, seductive and energetic port city, stretching south-to-north along the River Plate, the gateway to Argentina. Portenos, as the residents of Buenos Aires are known, have an elaborate and rich cultural identity. The lifestyle and architecture are markedly European, in fact, Buenos Aires is often referred to as the "Paris of the South".

The best way to get to know Buenos Aires' distinctive neighborhoods (barrios) is by foot. Recoleta is filled with beautiful buildings in French architecture, upscale boutiques and restaurants. The Recoleta Cemetery is the burial ground for prominent citizens, a veritable "Who's Who" of Argentine history and society: presidents, political leaders, authors and national heroes rest here.

This is truly a big city and areas such as San Telmo, is an old part of the city, with its bohemian atmosphere, narrow sidewalks, cobbled stone streets, one story flat roofed colonial houses, and windows with wrought iron railings. Whereas La Boca is the Italian quarter with its picturesque multicolor tin houses and lively atmosphere. Up and coming Palermo is where the young artists of Buenos Aires hang out.

Another place not to miss is Bariloche (translation: the people who live on the other side of the Lake). Situated on the lake is the famous Llao Llao hotel, with 360 degree view of the lake and mountains. Stunning!

For the ones who are seeking more of a thrill, a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier Park is a must. The layout of this wild and difficult terrain makes it one of the most unusual National Parks in the world. It forms part of the Patagonian Continental Ice Field from which 13 glaciers descend on the Atlantic side to flow into the Viedma and Argentino lakes. This is a UNESCO world site. A visit to the Catwalks of the National Park & the Balcony of Calafate is breathtaking. Not for the faint hearted! The city: Calafate. The best hotel: Los Sauces.

What would a visit to Argentina be without visiting the beautiful Iguazu Falls. The best views to see these falls are from the Argentina side
